Since joining Gaby Hardwicke in 1995 David has represented the Military Attaché’s department of a Middle Eastern government, an international rock musician and a local company in a successful intellectual property claim against Mercedes. Having headed up the firm’s Commercial Law Services department for nearly 20 years he became Managing Partner in 2014.
Prior to joining Gaby Hardwicke he was a senior associate with a 'Magic Circle' firm in the City, where he advised on intellectual property aspects of corporate transactions and floatations, as well as handling trade mark litigation in the courts and in the Intellectual Property Office. He has also acted for one of the world’s leading computer games companies, an international news and information company, an ITV franchise holder and a Formula One racing driver.
Between law school and commencing practise he worked as an MP’s Researcher in the House of Commons, specialising in foreign affairs, in which role he visited Washington and Pretoria.
Away from the office David plays trumpet in a swing band, is a keen supporter of Ulster Rugby, and has recently completed a term of office as a Trustee of the De La Warr Pavilion Charitable Trust.
